The Dog Faced Man
The fellows name was Douglas McNab. He was a programmer for the Saturn Software company and he was working on a project with five other people. John Candy was the leader of the project and Douglas had the least experience of the whole crew. He had hired on the month before and was slowly getting up to speed on the current project. It was becoming apparent to the crew that Douglas was one of the smartest people on the entire crew. No one had wrapped their head around this project as rapidly as Douglas had, and he was going to become indispensable to getting the project done under the time that was allowed for it. But he was butt ugly. He looked like a bull dog and people would make fun of his appearance behind his back.
Time went on and predictions made earlier proved accurate. Douglas had been the reason the project met all the time and testing guidelines and the crew was always being complimented for their work. But, still, behind his back they were all making fun of his appearance.

Evidence of Evolution
Charles Darwin was the most famous person to expound the Theory of Evolution. He was chastised for his beliefs because his theory was contradicted by stories in the Bible. He seemed to be saying God didn’t make mankind in His image as the people that believed the Bible is the literal word of God believe. The theory is still controversial today for the same reason a lot of people rejected it when it was proposed.
World War II
The United States Enters the War
The U.S. was reluctant to enter WWII in the beginning. On December 7, 1941 things changed when an invading Japanese air force attacked the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. The attack was a total surprise and on that Sunday morning 20 Naval vessels were either sunk or damaged and 2400 sailors were killed. On that day Franklin D. Roosevelt famously remarked “This day will live in infamy”.
The United States invaded Normandy on June 6, 1944 marking the date that The U.S. entered the European theater on the ground. The day has been dubbed “D-Day”. It was the largest invasion of land from sea-bound vessels in the history of the world.
