Verbs
Verbs are action words. There are some special words that are verbs that don’t seem like action words but they are verbs anyway. So, besides action words, which are always verbs here is a list of other verbs:

Fractions
Remember the boxes. One box is a whole box. Split it in half you get ½ of a box. Split it in 3 equal pieces you get one third of a box. Any number over another number is a fraction. Just numbers, not over anything are not fractions.

Reading Comprehension
Circle the nouns and put squares around the verbs in the following story. What is the theme of the story?
Bison
Bison are the largest animals in our country. Bison may be as tall as six feet. They may weigh up to 2000 pounds. Long ago there were many bison in the United States. But people started to hunt them for food. Soon there was only one tiny herd left. Some people knew the bison were in trouble. They passed laws to end bison hunting. They made a refuge for the tiny herd that was left. Now there are more bison in the United States. The bison was saved because the people helped.
