A sentence fragment is not a complete sentence because it is missing some vital portion that each sentence should have. It is missing either subject or predicate or a conjunction. The following are examples of sentence fragments:
- The boy running.
- The ball.
- The table tall.
The following are the same fragments that have been corrected to make complete sentences:
- The boy is running.
- The ball is rolling.
- The table is tall.
Be sure to recognize the difference between a sentence fragment and a complete sentence.
