Donald Trump elected as U.S. President

In the United States presidential election, billionaire Donald Trump is elected as the 45th president defeating Hillary Clinton as the Republican party retains the House and the Senate. The election has sparked protests including Oakland and New York City. It is the closest election since 2000 when George W. Bush got more popular votes then Al Gore as Hillary would have been as the first female president.

Trump will become the oldest president surpassing Ronald Reagan. The inauguration will be January 20, 2017, when Barack Obama steps down. The Mexican government refuses to pay for the wall between Mexico and the United States after Trump's controversial remarks about illegal immigration.

Trump hosted in reality TV show The Apprentice from 2004 to 2015 when he announced his president bid.
